Youngsters in poverty-riddled Zambia have been receiving much-needed sports equipment, thanks to the National Alliance For Youth Sports' Global Gear Drive.

 

The Alliance created the Global Gear Drive to collect new and used youth sports equipment that it distributes to underprivileged children around the world.

 

Take a look at what some youngsters and adults in Zambia are saying after receiving a recent shipment of sports equipment and apparel.

 

Zikomo Kwambili: Thank you very much for your support. I am a grandmother who is looking after four grandchildren whose mother is not with us. So it has been very difficult for me to provide clothes or sports attire for them, because my husband died and I am not working. So I thank you very much for supporting my grandson Sheppard with this beautiful attire. Sheppard is very happy and very active in sports activities. May Good bless you and please keep on helping us because you are making a big difference in the lives of these children. Thank you very much for your support.

 

James Kunda: Hi, I am 10 years old, doing my 5th grade at Burma Basic school. I just want to say thank you to you people who have helped us with this nice sports attire. Now that I have the sports attire, I know I am going to be the best footballer. The sports attire and the equipment you gave us have made our team to become strong and happy. Thank you for giving us this nice attire and equipment. Keep on helping us because sport is good for us and it makes us strong. Good bless you.

 

Collins Chilufya: I am doing my seventh grade at Lotus Basic in Lusaka. I am 10 years old and I am the third born in the family of four. I belong to Sport In Action under 12 Football team. Thank you for helping our team with t-shirts, shorts, boots, sneakers, shin pads and balls. This donation has helped me and my team to participate fully in sports activities. We are very happy as a team. Thank you very much for your support and keep on supporting our good team. Thank you to everyone who donated this wonderful equipment to our team.
