National Conference on Youth Sport, Physical Education and Development in Lusaka, Zambia, on May 16-18
Fred Engh, president of the National Alliance For Youth Sports, will give the opening keynote address at the National Conference on Youth Sport, Physical Education and Development in Lusaka, Zambia, on May 16-18.

The conference is bringing together top experts from around the world to address a variety of issues affecting youth sports. Some of the topics that will be covered include using sports as a medium for fighting HIV/AIDS; the value sports can play in the education of youngsters; and overcoming the challenges of establishing quality youth sports programs in underdeveloped regions of the world.

Along with delivering the conference's keynote address, Engh will present a session to the delegates on the value of youth sports in the overall development of children.

"By and large, sports provide a wonderful experience for millions of children here in our country," Engh said. "Our organization is dedicated to expanding these opportunities to all countries so that all children can benefit from participating in programs that focus on their physical and emotional well-being."

Earlier this year the Alliance began implementing programs in Dominica, a poverty-ridden country in the Eastern Caribbean.
