Chipungu, Minister of Sport, Youth and Child Development.)
This special event also marked Sport in Action’s 10th year of working to improve the quality of life through sport and recreational activities.
Sport in Action called on members of the public to submit nominations for those most deserving of being recognized.
"Clearly, people took full advantage of the opportunity to thank properly that coach, teacher or parent who had shown them special support and encouragement and who they had never been able to thank before," said Clement Chileshe, the International Alliance for Youth Sports' regional representative for Africa. "The event was beamed live by ZNBC on national television, ensuring that the achievement of those acting at the grassroots level in sport was enjoyed and witnessed by people from all districts throughout Zambia."
