Liberia Rural Children’s Psycho-social Development Organization which is a non-governmental organization (NGO) operating in Liberia for the last three years. In their recent communications with IAYS, the organization has been persistent in their efforts to secure sports as a positive outlet which will help combat negative influences forcing their youth to retreat to growing levels of “idle time” and issues such as conflict, unemployment, HIV/AIDS and substance abuse among other socio-economic challenges.
“With sporting equipment and educational support provided by [IAYS], communities and schools will bring a reawakening of joy, love respect and true fellowship among children and the people working in the communities and schools,” Elsie Guwor, Executive Director of Liberia Rural Children Organization mentions. IAYS believes that in working with this organization hand in hand through ONE WORLD. ONE TEAM., they have the opportunity to make a long-term impact in order to improve the lives of even greater population of children and youth throughout the country.
